We are so excited to bring back a dedicated Olympic Weightlifting program to the gym for those of you who want to dedicate that extra time or possibly even more time on improving your Snatch and Clean & Jerk. We are excited to welcome back a fully dedicated program for improving these and WE CAN’T WAIT 🙂
What’s the score then with this new Olympic Weightlifting program?
For those of you who are a little more old school know that we used to have an Oly Program that was on Wednesday and Sundays but with the year we had we did have to cut it. We were also not satisfied with it only being 2 sessions a week. However now with the changes we are excited to not only bring it back but to increase the sessions! As you hopefully know it will be 3 sessions a week! Whoop whoop!
Much like all our other programs you can use this as a standalone ( hence us wanting to add in an extra session a week to days of old) but also as a supplement if you wanted to simply improve on your Oly Lifts for CrossFit or general training goals.
What’s the first Olympic Weightlifting program looking like?
So, as this is a standalone program it’s important to know that you won’t ”Just” be snatching and hitting Clean & Jerks. We will be doing plenty of strength training in the sessions to help these lifts improve. We will also be hitting squats and plenty of accessory work to get you strong for all the positions you need to hit to successfully hit good reps on the Oly lifts.
With the Snatch and Clean & Jerk themselves we will be going through proper focus areas to get the most out of the training and time we are putting in to it to make sure we maximise our potential. There will be skill phases into accumulation phases (adding in reps and weight) and then working towards full ”Strength” phases to maximise us hitting a peak phase where we will hit the oh so important heavy singles most of you are probably chasing 🙂
The first Olympic Weightlifting Program we are hitting will last 11 Weeks hitting all those different phases to make sure you get a nice big juicy PB at then end 😛

Is there anything else I need to know?
Yes, timings! Wednesday and Saturday classes are both an hour each. Sunday is a 90 Minute Class where pending on your needs and the session of the day we can either spend more time on the technique work or really focus in on the strength work.
Again, we are really excited to bring this back and if the Oly course is anything to go by then in about 11 weeks you will all be smashing PBs left right and centre! If you have any questions about the program or the ins and outs then fire an email my way!
